Local elevation of privilege
Published Feb 13, 2024 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Elevation of privilege in Microsoft Azure File Sync allows local users to gain elevated privileges through a local attack. Microsoft has not published the vulnerable component or the incorrect operation it performs on untrusted input. Exploitation requires existing low-privileged local access and high-complexity conditions, and a successful attack permits unauthorized modification with limited service interruption but no data disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
