Improper access control in Microsoft Windows VBS allows local users to expose protected data by rolling back system files. The secure-kernel update trust path accepts older, vulnerable Microsoft-signed VBS binaries in place of current files, undoing prior fixes. Administrator privileges and a VBS-capable device are required; successful rollback bypasses VBS protections and exposes protected data.
