CVE-2024-21235Network attack vector

Unauthenticated read and modification of accessible data

Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025

HotSpot in affected Oracle Java SE and GraalVM releases allows remote attackers to read and modify some accessible data via multiple protocols. Oracle has not published the precise HotSpot locus or the operation it performs incorrectly on untrusted input. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled data to reach HotSpot APIs, such as through a web service, or untrusted code to run inside a Java sandbox; reported impact is limited to partial data disclosure and modification.
