Authenticated database service hang or crash
Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
MySQL Server 8.0.39 and earlier, 8.4.2 and earlier, and 9.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or crash the service. Oracle identifies the affected locus only as Server: PS and has not disclosed the input or faulty operation that causes the failure. Exploitation requires network access over a supported protocol and a highly privileged account; successful requests can cause a persistent hang or repeatable crash without reported data exposure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
