Resource exhaustion in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.36 and earlier and 8.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to crash the service. Oracle identifies Server Optimizer as the affected component but has not disclosed the triggering query or the optimizer operation that mishandles it. Exploitation requires high privileges and difficult network interaction; successful attacks hang or repeatedly crash the database server.
