Authenticated server hang or repeatable crash
Published Apr 16, 2024 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.36 and earlier and 8.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to hang or crash the server. Oracle identifies the Server Optimizer as the affected locus but has not published the malformed input or incorrect optimizer operation. Exploitation requires high privileges, network access through the MySQL protocol, and high attack complexity; impact is limited to a hang or repeatable crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
