CVE-2024-20979Network attack vector

Authenticated data read and modification via undisclosed flaw

Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025

Improper authorization in Oracle BI Publisher 6.4.0.0.0, 7.0.0.0.0, and 12.2.1.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and modify data via HTTP. Oracle identifies the affected locus only as the Web Server component and has not disclosed the faulty operation or input that defeats authorization. Exploitation requires a low-privileged account and interaction by another person, and it permits reading a subset of accessible data plus updating, inserting, or deleting some accessible data.
