Authenticated server hang or repeatable crash
Published Jan 16, 2024 · Updated Jun 9, 2025
Denial of service in Oracle MySQL Server 8.0.35 and earlier and 8.1.0 through 8.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to hang or crash the server. The affected Server Optimizer component processes a crafted request delivered over the MySQL protocol, but Oracle has not disclosed the faulty operation or input condition. A low-privileged database account and network access are required, and successful attacks affect availability only through a hang or repeatedly reproducible crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
