Data modification via unchecked media-frame size arithmetic
Published Feb 17, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Integer overflow in JavaFX media framing in Oracle Java SE 8u391 allows remote attackers to modify accessible data via crafted media. CVideoFrame calculates video-plane sizes and offsets without overflow checks, then derives pointers without verifying that each plane remains within its backing buffer. Exploitation requires user interaction with untrusted code in a sandboxed Java Web Start application or applet; trusted-code server deployments are not affected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
