CVE-2024-20900Public exploit

Unauthorized MTP access via injected prompt acceptance

Published Jul 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Improper authentication in the MTP application on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Jul-2024 Release 1 allows local attackers to enter MTP mode. The application accepts USB-injected input that confirms the data-transfer prompt before it becomes visible; the patch removes unused bypass code. A malicious USB charger must be physically connected, after which MTP exposes stored files without the device owner's approval.
