CVE-2024-20897

Local information disclosure via implicit IMS intent

Published Jul 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Information disclosure in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Jul-2024 Release 1 allows local attackers to obtain sensitive FCM data. The IMS FCM function sends sensitive communication with an implicit intent, allowing another local application to receive data not addressed explicitly to it. Exploitation requires local execution on a selected Android 14 device but no additional privileges or user interaction, and the documented consequence is limited to disclosure of the FCM communication.
