CVE-2024-20858

Application information disclosure via missing callback access control

Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Improper access control in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR May-2024 Release 1 allows local attackers to read current-application data. The setCocktailHostCallbacks method in CocktailBarService registers callbacks without the proper access-control check, exposing information about the application currently in use. Local execution on an affected Android 12, 13, or 14 device is required; the disclosed consequence is limited to current-application information.
