Out-of-bounds write via text parser integer overflow
Published Apr 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 23, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in libsdffextractor on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Apr-2024 Release 1 allows local users to corrupt memory. The text parser fails to prevent an integer overflow while processing input, causing a write beyond the intended memory boundary. Reachability requires local input on an affected Android 12, 13, or 14 device, and the vendor-reported consequence is limited to availability degradation.
