CVE-2024-20837

Unauthorized TWA permission grants via consent bypass

Published Mar 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Improper permission handling in Samsung Internet before 24.0.0.41 allows local users to authorize their own Trusted Web Activity apps. The Trusted Web Activity permission path accepts an app-originated grant without enforcing the user-interaction step required for consent. Low-privilege local access is required; successful use bypasses consent and grants the attacker's TWA WebApp permissions, while deeper implementation details remain undisclosed.
