Memory corruption via pub_crypto_recv_msg race
Published Mar 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Use-after-free in NETLINKFIPSCRYPTO on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Mar-2024 Release 1 allows local users to corrupt memory. A race in pub_crypto_recv_msg ends an object's lifetime while the function can still use it, producing a stale reference. Exploitation requires system privilege on an affected Android 11, 12, 13, or 14 device; no confidentiality or availability impact is reported.
