CVE-2024-20819

Local buffer overflow via unchecked PLH validation

Published Feb 6, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in libsthmbc.so on Samsung Mobile Devices running Android 11 through 14 allows local users to trigger a buffer overflow. Samsung identifies svc1td_vld_plh_ap as the affected routine and states that missing check logic permits the out-of-bounds write. Exploitation requires local access to an affected device; Samsung reports a buffer overflow but does not claim code execution or data disclosure.
