Stored XSS via unsanitized attachment metadata
Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in FooPlugins FooGallery 2.4.14 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through an AJAX action. The foogallery_attachment_modal_save handler accepts attacker-controlled attachment metadata without sufficient sanitization, and affected rendering paths output the stored value without context-appropriate escaping. Author-level access is required to store the payload, which executes in a user's browser when an injected page is accessed.
