CVE-2024-20805

Arbitrary file write via ZipCompressor path traversal

Published Jan 4, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025

Path traversal in the file manager on Samsung Mobile Devices running affected Android 11 through 13 builds allows local users to write arbitrary files. Samsung identifies ZipCompressor as the locus but has not disclosed the pathname-handling operation that permits traversal; the advisory states only that the patch adds mitigation logic. Triggering requires local access and user interaction, and the published impact is limited to file integrity.
