Arbitrary file read via logging path traversal
Published Mar 18, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Path traversal in Adobe ColdFusion 2023 Update 6 and earlier and 2021 Update 12 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files. The exposed getHeartBeat method returns a UUID that the /pms logging module accepts while its file_name parameter resolves traversal sequences outside the intended log path. The Administrator interface must be internet-exposed; no authentication or user interaction is required, and disclosed exploitation reads host files.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
