Stored XSS via unsanitized day parameter
Published Mar 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Daily Habit Tracker 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via the day field. The update-tracker.php endpoint stores the day parameter without neutralizing executable HTML, and the saved value executes when another user views the tracker entry. Exploitation requires a valid login and later viewing of the saved entry, resulting in attacker-controlled script execution in the viewer's browser.
