CVE-2024-20733

Application crash via malformed OTF font parsing

Published Feb 15, 2024 · Updated Apr 24, 2025

Improper input validation in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader 20.005.30539 and 23.008.20470 and earlier allows attackers to crash the application. The OTF font parsing path processes malformed font data from a crafted file, but Adobe has not disclosed the specific validation failure or erroneous parsing operation. A victim must open the malicious file; exploitation interrupts only that application instance, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
