Code execution via freed Annot3D object reuse
Published Feb 15, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Use-after-free in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader 20.005.30539 and 23.008.20470 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a malicious PDF. Embedded JavaScript changes the page during an Annot3D zoom event, freeing an object that Reader later reuses without validating its lifetime and causing memory corruption. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted document; successful abuse runs code with the current user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
