Stored script execution via unsanitized flashcard fields
Published Mar 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in SourceCodester Flashcard Quiz App 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a victim's browser. The update-flashcard.php endpoint stores the question and answer POST values in tbl_card without sanitizing them, and the application later renders the stored values as page content. An attacker needs access to the flashcard update function and a victim must view the altered card; the script then runs with the victim's site privileges.
