CVE-2024-20700

Remote code execution via undisclosed race condition

Published Jan 9, 2024 · Updated May 3, 2025

A race condition in Windows Hyper-V allows remote attackers on an adjacent network to execute code on affected Windows hosts. Microsoft has not disclosed the affected Hyper-V code locus or the shared-resource operation performed without proper synchronization. Exploitation requires restricted-network access and winning the race, after which code runs with Hyper-V host privileges.
