Transfer misdirection via duplicate device-name spoofing

Spoofing in Microsoft Windows Nearby Sharing allows remote attackers to impersonate a discovered device and misdirect a transfer. Device discovery accepts a machine bearing the same displayed name as the sought device, while Microsoft has not disclosed the missing cryptographic identity check. Exploitation requires Nearby Sharing to be enabled and a user to search for and select the spoofed machine.
