Stored browser script execution via unencoded model field
Published Mar 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024
Stored XSS in SourceCodester Computer Inventory System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. The add-computer.php endpoint stores the model field without neutralizing markup, and the inventory table later renders that value as HTML. A high-privilege authenticated user must submit the value and another user must view the affected inventory page, allowing script execution within that viewer's session.
