File disclosure and SSRF via XML entity expansion
Published Nov 6, 2024 · Updated Nov 6, 2024
XXE in Cisco Identity Services Engine 3.4.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read files or trigger server-side requests. The ISE API parser resolves crafted XML external entity entries instead of rejecting them, exposing local file contents and issuing requests from the appliance. Valid Super Admin credentials are required, and the resulting access is limited to file reads and SSRF through the affected device.
