CVE-2024-20513Network attack vector

Targeted VPN session termination via predictable handlers

Published Oct 2, 2024 · Updated Jun 4, 2025

Authorization bypass in Cisco Meraki MX Firmware allows remote attackers to terminate targeted AnyConnect SSL VPN sessions. The AnyConnect VPN server assigns SSL VPN session handlers with insufficient entropy, allowing valid handlers to be brute-forced or predicted and supplied in crafted HTTPS requests. Cisco AnyConnect VPN must be enabled; successful requests terminate selected sessions and force affected remote users to reconnect and reauthenticate.
