CVE-2024-20483Network attack vector

Administrator-to-root command execution via unvalidated arguments

Published Sep 11, 2024 · Updated Sep 20, 2024

Command injection in Cisco IOS XR Software allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root on PON Controller containers. Specific PON configuration commands accept crafted arguments without sufficient validation and pass them into operating-system command execution. Exploitation requires Administrator-level PON Manager privileges or direct MongoDB access, and Routed PON Controller must be configured on supported NCS hardware.
