CVE-2024-20482Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via insufficient read-only role validation

Published Oct 23, 2024 · Updated Oct 26, 2024

Incorrect authorization in Cisco Secure Firewall Management Center 7.2.0 through 7.3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to modify configuration. The web-based management interface insufficiently validates permissions when a custom read-only account performs a write operation, allowing changes to protected settings. A valid account assigned a custom read-only role is required, and the reported consequence is limited to modification of certain configuration areas.
