Device reload via fragmented-packet resource mismanagement

Resource management errors in Cisco IOS XE Software 17.12.1 and 17.12.1a allow remote attackers to reload affected network devices. The IPv4 fragmentation reassembly code improperly manages resources while processing specially sized packet fragments. Exploitation is unauthenticated and requires the packets to reach an affected device directly or through a VFR-enabled interface, causing a service interruption while the device reloads.
