Root command execution via unsanitized CLI input
Published Oct 16, 2024 · Updated Oct 16, 2024
Command injection in Cisco ATA 190 Series firmware allows local users with high privileges to execute arbitrary commands as root through the CLI. The CLI fails to sanitize malicious characters before passing user-controlled input to the underlying operating system. Successful exploitation requires high-privilege local CLI access and permits root-level reading and writing of operating-system data.
