Root command execution via HTTP packet overflow

Buffer overflow in Cisco Small Business SPA300 and SPA500 IP Phones allows remote attackers to execute commands with root privileges. The web management interface fails to check incoming HTTP packets for errors before copying data into an internal buffer, allowing crafted requests to exceed its bounds. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants control of the phone’s underlying operating system.
