CVE-2024-20450Network attack vector

Unauthenticated root command execution via HTTP overflow

Published Aug 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024

Buffer overflow in the web interface of Cisco Small Business SPA300 and SPA500 IP Phones allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The HTTP request handler does not properly check incoming packets for errors, allowing crafted requests to overflow an internal buffer. No authentication or special configuration is required, and successful exploitation grants root-level command execution on the phone.
