Local file disclosure via crafted chat attachment
Published Feb 29, 2024 · Updated May 19, 2025
Path traversal in Session 1.17.5 for Android allows local users to read application and public files through a crafted chat attachment. ShareActivity accepts an attacker-supplied file URI from an ACTION_SEND intent and attaches the referenced file without restricting it to approved paths. Exploitation requires user interaction and exposes files readable by the application, without reported write or service-interruption impact.
