Network-admin file overwrite via unvalidated REST arguments
Published Oct 2, 2024 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Argument injection in Cisco Data Center Network Manager 11.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files via REST. A specific REST API endpoint passes crafted command arguments without sufficient validation, allowing argument delimiters to alter the invoked command. Network-admin privileges are required; exploitation can overwrite sensitive files or crash one self-restarting container, briefly interrupting service.
