Guest-to-admin escalation via sensitive information disclosure
Published Oct 2, 2024 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Improper authorization in Cisco RV340, RV340W, RV345, and RV345P router firmware allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access. The web-based management interface exposes sensitive information in response to crafted HTTP input, letting a guest account elevate to administrator. A valid guest session is required, and WAN exploitation also requires remote management, which is disabled by default; the LAN interface remains available.
