CVE-2024-20385Network attack vector

Sensitive-data interception via incomplete certificate revalidation

Published Oct 2, 2024 · Updated Oct 2, 2024

Improper certificate validation in Cisco Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator allows remote attackers to intercept sensitive intersite traffic. The Validate Peer Certificate feature checks APIC, CNC, and Nexus Dashboard certificates only when a site is added or reregistered, leaving later sessions open to a crafted certificate. Exploitation requires a network man-in-the-middle position and permits device impersonation and disclosure of communications between NDO and the managed site.
