Root command execution via unvalidated SQL queries
Published May 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
SQL injection in Cisco Firepower Management Center 7.0.0 through 7.3.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The web-based management interface fails to validate input before incorporating crafted SQL queries into database operations. Read Only credentials and network access to the interface are sufficient; exploitation exposes all database data and permits root privilege escalation.
