Rate-filter bypass in affected Cisco Firepower Threat Defense releases allows remote attackers to pass unintended traffic. The Snort detection engine incorrectly compares the connection count when traffic exceeds the configured filter rate. Exposure requires Snort and a rate filter to be enabled; excess connections can enter the protected network despite the filter.
