CVE-2024-20329Network attack vector

Root command execution via crafted SSH CLI input

Published Oct 23, 2024 · Updated Oct 26, 2024

Command injection in the SSH subsystem of Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands as root. The CiscoSSH stack insufficiently validates crafted input submitted while remote CLI commands are executed over SSH, allowing command delimiters to reach an operating-system command context. Exposure requires a vulnerable release, the CiscoSSH stack, SSH access on an interface, and limited user privileges; successful exploitation grants complete system control.
