Unauthenticated command execution via audio filenames
Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Command injection in Mudler LocalAI before 2.10.0 allows remote attackers to execute host commands through a crafted audio filename. The TranscriptEndpoint passes the uploaded filename through audioToWav into an ffmpeg command assembled as text and executed by /bin/sh -c without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Network access to the unauthenticated transcription API is sufficient, and injected commands run with the privileges of the LocalAI process.
