CVE-2024-20153Network attack vector

Remote information disclosure via spoofed-SSID association

Published Jan 6, 2025 · Updated Jan 6, 2025

Missing authentication in MediaTek wlan STA allows remote attackers to disclose information through a spoofed-SSID access point. The client accepts a spoofed SSID without completing a critical authentication step and connects to the attacker's access point. No privileges or user interaction are required; the vendor identifies information disclosure but does not publish the exposed data or the omitted step.
