Proximate service interruption via Bluetooth firmware assertion
Published Dec 2, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Reachable assertion in MediaTek Bluetooth firmware allows physically proximate attackers to interrupt service on affected chipsets. Improper handling of an exceptional condition reaches a firmware assertion, but MediaTek has not disclosed the triggering input or code locus. No privileges or user interaction are required, and exploitation is limited to an availability loss caused by the firmware assert.
