An out-of-bounds read in MediaTek vdec on affected Android 12.0 chipsets allows local users with System privileges to disclose information. Improper structure design causes vdec to read beyond the intended object boundary, although MediaTek does not identify the exact structure. Exploitation requires prior System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and is limited to reading data outside the intended bounds.
