CVE-2024-20110

Local privilege escalation via unchecked CCU write

Published Nov 4, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in MediaTek CCU software on Android 12.0 through 15.0 allows local users with System privileges to escalate access. The vendor identifies CCU as the locus but does not disclose the affected function or input; a missing bounds check permits a write past a buffer boundary. Exploitation requires existing System privilege and no user interaction, and the resulting memory corruption can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
