An out-of-bounds read in MediaTek vdec on listed chipsets running Android 12.0 allows local users with System privileges to disclose memory. The decoder omits a bounds check before reading, allowing input to make vdec access memory beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and has no reported integrity or availability impact.
