PHP object injection via untrusted deserialization
Published Mar 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
PHP object injection in wpWax Post Grid, Slider & Carousel Ultimate 1.6.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject objects. The outpost_shortcode_metabox_markup function deserializes contributor-controlled input, instantiating attacker-selected PHP objects. Contributor-level access is required, and file deletion, sensitive-data retrieval, or code execution requires a usable POP chain from another installed plugin or theme.
