CVE-2024-2005Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via undisclosed SAML misconfiguration

Published Mar 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2024

Privilege escalation in four Blue Planet products through 22.12 allows remote authenticated users to gain elevated access via SAML. Ciena has not disclosed the component-level locus or how the SAML configuration incorrectly processes an assertion, attribute, or role mapping. Exposure requires SAML authentication, existing low-level privileges, and user interaction; successful exploitation grants broader access to application data and functions.
