CVE-2024-20045

Local information disclosure via buffer-size miscalculation

Published Apr 1, 2024 · Updated Mar 28, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in the MediaTek audio component on Android 12.0 through 14.0 allows local users to disclose memory contents. An incorrect buffer-size calculation causes the audio component to read beyond the intended buffer boundary, exposing adjacent data. Exploitation requires prior System-level execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and is limited to local information disclosure.
